Charlotte Junior Chamber Announces 3rd Annual City-Wide Electronics Donation Drive

The Charlotte Junior Chamber (Jaycees) in partnership with Goodwill Industries of Southern Piedmont is hosting a city-wide electronics donation drive to be held on Saturday Sept. 17, 2011. This is a unique opportunity for Charlotte residents to help their neighbors find jobs – through job training – and save our landfills from growing.

Members are collecting donations from 9:30am-4pm at the Park Road Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Park Road and Woodlawn Road, or you can drop off donations at any of the 20 Goodwill stores in the Charlotte area. There is no charge to drop off electronics.
The following items will be accepted: computers, monitors, fax machines, printers, keyboards, typewriters, stereo systems, VCRs, photocopiers, cell phones or any other electronic. All valuable data will be crushed and destroyed.
All proceeds from donated items will help fund Goodwill’s employment and training programs; all donations are tax deductible. Every donor will receive a receipt. You can learn more or find a complete list of collection sites at www.goodwillsp.org.
Qdoba Mexican Grill will be present and handing out free meal vouchers, food and drinks to all donors.
The Jaycees are proud to be partnering with Goodwill and participating in a project that can make an impact on our community by keeping our landfills from growing wastes.
